Why did I have to see cinnamon rolls as I was about to make french toast sticks?
I planned on using plain focaccia bread to make french toast, but the cinnamon rolls spoke to me. They whispered something about needing to get a life and gestured toward the focaccia. Maybe later, my thoughts swirled.
Now, it’s time to get my buns ready for . . .
French Toast Sticks
Whisk together in a small bowl:
1/4 cup hemp milk
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
pinch cinnamon and nutmeg
Slice 4 gluten free cinnamon rolls into fourths. Dip each section in egg mixture, turning to coat thoroughly. Place pieces on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 25 minutes in a 325 degree oven, turning pieces over half way for even cooking.
Maple syrup for dipping is probably unnecessary. Go for it.
